LLOYD VAN WINKLE, MD

Dr. Van Winkle is a board-certified family physician and Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He received his undergraduate education at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, his medical education at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, and completed residency training at UTHSC San Antonio. He presides over the board of directors of the United Physicians of San Antonio ACO and is the medical director for Companion Hospice.Dr. Van Winkle is a member and past president of the Texas Academy of Family Physicians. At the national level, he has served as a board member of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), AAFP’s Commission on Membership and Member Services, and as chair of the AAFP Committee on Communications. He is the health officer for Castroville and its neighboring community, La Coste, and he has served as medical director of the Medina Valley EMS for more than 25 years. Dr. Van Winkle is an associate professor at UTHSCSA
